There are so many great artists from around the world producing music at the moment and you should definitely check out some of them, especially those mixing everything with R&b, Soul, Jazz and Blues.
In fact, I’m sure you’ll discover at least one (or more) new to you “must listen to music” on this list. This ten independent R&b, jazz, blues and pop artists blending music genres are a great way to update your playlist.
Who do you listen to for some good R&B, Soul, Jazz and Blues music? It’s hard to find good independent artists in those genres nowadays. Most of the big names have gone mainstream leaving less room for some awesome indie acts. The following article is about the good artists who are worth your time and attention.
Before that, I have a question for you. Have you ever wanted to share your passion for independent R&B, Jazz and Blues music with others? More importantly, did you want to show the world that you have an eye for talent?
The great thing about the internet is that there are thousands of websites and millions of blogs available for anyone to display their talents. However, it’s an unfortunate fact that many indie artists don’t have enough people supporting them.
There are so many indie music websites on the internet that a visitor might only need to visit one or two popular websites before a new discovery. What this means is that established music websites have an advantage over up-and-coming musicians and that’s what we came for.
You can listen to our full playlist which contains the artists’ music separated by genre, click here to access our Jazz & Blues playlist, and click the button below to access our R&B and Pop playlist. Also, know more about the artists by scrolling down the page.

The song opens with a smooth bassline that makes you want to sit back, close your eyes and let the music surround you. This is followed by an infectious beat that makes me want to get up and dance around my room like a crazy person (or at least bob my head up and down).
The vocals are melodic and soothing, while still having a sexy edge that makes them perfect for both chilling out or dancing around, having a romantic moment, or following the rhythm with your whole body like a crazy person. It’s an incredibly versatile track; I’ve listened to it on repeat all week long!

2) AARON BROWN – Mr Jones
The single Mr Jones from the artist Aaron Brown is a beautiful, funky, and nostalgic sound that will transport you back to an era of jazz music.
The single combines elements of funk and R&B with an instrumental sound that has a classic feel. The song is reminiscent of the lounge music that was popular in the 1970s and 1980s among the wealthiest.
He wrote, produced, and arranged the song in memory of his longtime friend and mentor, Gordon “G-man” Jones. This track features a prominent saxophone played by guest star Pete Belasco, who carries the melody admirably with passionate horn playing over drummer Gene Faffley’s beats. In addition to Brown’s nuanced electric guitar, Johnson adds keyboard harmonies.
Brown’s latest release is sure to be a hit with fans of instrumental music as well as those looking for a ambient music or soundtrack for their sophisticated productions. Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify.
3) DESMOND PARSON – Possibly
If you’re looking for some new music to fall in love with, look no further than the single “Possibly” by Desmond Parsons. The song is a blend of modern indie R&B and neo-soul that will take you back to the days of Marvin Gaye and Al Green.
Desmond’s voice is smooth and velvety, layered over a beat that is both soothing and catchy. You can hear the influence of US Black culture in his music, especially as he sings about love from a man’s perspective—something that is still somewhat rare in today’s music scene.
His music has been described as vintage by some producers from PopHits.Co, as old-school sound or classic by others, and as nostalgic by others. Particularly, it’s all together and we absolutely loved it.
If this sounds like something you’d like to check out, we highly recommend following Desmond on Spotify so you can keep up with all his new releases!
4) ANTONELLA VIZZINI – My Italian Romance
My Italian Romance, the latest album from singer-songwriter Antonella Vizzini, is a collection of covers featuring the famous jazz-pop songs that were carefully curated by Vizzini, a piece of art and very comfortable to listen to.
The album has a soft band sound with a little bit of world music, as it consists of covers. It’s a spirited collection that’s perfect for your special moments. The track E Penso a Te is remarkable, doesn’t it sound romantic and emotional? It actually is!
I really enjoyed ANTONELLA VIZZINI’s voice in this album—it is so sweet and pleasant. She has an ethereal quality to her voice that I really enjoy listening to. The male vocals are also great—they’re soft and comforting, which makes for an interesting combination between the two vocalists.

The song has all the elements of classic R&B: dreamy vocals but lo-fi style, blended with a rocky sound which made everything special. It’s all layered over a smooth and soulful beat that builds as it progresses.
It’s got just enough hip-hop flavour to keep you engaged throughout, but also retains a dreamy quality that makes it easy to listen to over and over again.

Reed’s vocals are smooth and powerful, and her lyrics also shine here. She conveys the emotions of heartbreak and longing with ease, making it easy for listeners to connect with the song on an emotional level. But it also has a genre mix and alternative touch to it that makes me feel like this isn’t your typical pop song.

8) CEYEO – Summer Love
CEYEO‘s single “Summer Love” is a perfect example of what the indie R&B scene has been lacking for so long: a classic sound that feels like it could have been made in the 80s, but is super modern.

9) L3O – 1969
If you’re looking for an album that’s ready to be your new go-to party playlist, L3O‘s 1969 is a great option. It’s mixing R&B and hip-hop, and the result is something modern and cinematic.
This indie R&B artist is based in Jacksonville, Florida and has been making music for some years. His latest project, 1969, is a collection of songs that are perfect for the summertime and will get you dancing in no time.
The album opens with “Blue Skies P.T.L.L.” which features some of the most uplifting beats you’ll hear on his album. The song is great for any occasion—I’ve listened to it many times and felt very emotional too.
“1969” is one of my favourite tracks on this album because it has such a chill vibe but still has an edge to it that makes it fun to listen to more than once.
The whole album has a nice balance between easy listening tracks like “3 AM Waterfall” and more upbeat ones like “Viltropollis”. Check it out and follow the artist on Spotify!
10) 5ON5 – Foot on the Pedal
5ON5‘s new single, Foot on the Pedal, is an anthem for anyone who’s ever felt trapped by their circumstances. The song is a mix of R&B, rap and dark pop, basically, it’s a masterpiece that takes you through an emotional journey as it builds to its conclusion.
From the start, it establishes a cinematic atmosphere with its ethereal acoustic guitar and smooth drum beats—but then it starts to get more upbeat as the vocals come in. The contrast between these two moods makes for a truly unique listening experience.
The vocals performed by the leading singer are catchy and feature a sound that is both masculine and delicate at once. He uses his range well here. This gives him plenty of room to experiment with different melodies throughout the song as well—and his experimentation pays off: he manages to create something unique every time.
At first glance, Foot on the Pedal might just look like another Electronic-R&B fusion track—but don’t let that fool you! There’s so much more going on here than meets the eye: this one will have you hitting repeat over and over again! Check it out and follow the band on Spotify.
