Brazilian protesters take to the streets demanding freedom and supporting President Bolsonaro

Will Lisil 15/05/2021
President Bolsonaro Demonstration Manifest in Brazil

The Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro participated in the March of the Christian Family for Liberty, and manifest promoted by farmers and supporters on Saturday, May 15, at the Esplanada dos Ministérios, the government site in Brasília city.

The manifest took place in almost 100 cities simultaneously in Brazil.

The Brazilian people called for an auditable vote, an end to the lockdowns imposed by some leftist state governors and mayors.  Also they asked for the rejection of the bill that intends to liberate the planting of cannabis in the country and respect for the independence of the 3 main powers, and full restoration of fundamental freedoms.

Protesters wear green and yellow and carry Brazilian flags.

The groups also protest against all ministers of the Supreme Federal Court, asking them to stop the abuse of power, manipulative political internal scheme against the actual govern, and for respect of democracy.

One of the reasons of this strong rejection of the Supreme Court ministers by the citizens is the constant acts of corruption, as delations about accepting dirty money from other politicians to compensate acceptance or achievement of process and injunctions on STF (Federal Supreme Court).

This corrupt actions of all 11 ministers of the Brazilian Supreme Court during the last years is leading to catastrophic interference of power against many departments of the government, going inclusive against the proper constitution, which rules all aspects of Brazilian law, as minister Alexandre de Morais who ordered authorities to arrest journalists as Oswaldo Eustaquio and the federal deputy Daniel Silveira.

The citizens maintained a totally peaceful behaviour during all the event as they were majority young people and families, inclusive with kids.

The crowd applauded and ovationed the President Bolsonaro many times, and according to the video posted on Twitter by O Antagoniza, the protesters insisted to make their point against the republic senator Renan Calheiros, referendary of Covid-19 enquiry commission, that is being considered by the population a scheme to destabilise the country to block the actual government to win the elections again in 2022.

The crowd kept screaming ”Renan Calheiros vagabundo”, meaning Renan Calheiros as a vagabond extreme left wing activist against the country and the people, demonstrating a huge rejection by the senator, his team and their political manipulative actions during the pandemic.

The politician Renan Calheiros is the most prosecuted senator in the Brazilian parliament, accumulating more than 40 legal process and 6 inquiries against him.

PRESIDENT SPEECH

In a speech on top of a speaker truck, Bolsonaro defended the approval of the vote with printed receipt in the 2022 elections, whose proposal to amend the Constitution (PEC) had the special commission installed last Thursday (13) in the Chamber of Deputies.

The president also defended the loosening of the social restriction measures imposed by governors and mayors to face the covid-19 pandemic, which drastically deteriorated the economy and aggravated poverty as they prohibited citizens to work.

 MANIFEST

Before joining the speaker truck, Bolsonaro greeted his supporters. Earlier, the president had lunch at the Centro de Tradições Gaúchas in Brasília – a traditional organisation that represents the people of the south region – with representatives of agribusiness who organised the manifest.

President Bolsonaro said that the ministers of his government are “perfectly aligned with the purpose of serving the country and preserving freedom through sacrifice even of life itself, if necessary” and that Brazil remained standing “thanks to the men of the fields in the countryside, which are the farmers”.

According to IBGE secretary – Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, the agribusiness is responsible for 42% of all country’s exportations, in addition of 37% of all jobs generated, also responsible for more than 30% of Brazil’s GDP – Gross Domestic Product.

Bolsonaro also said that if the National Congress approves deputy Bia Kicis’s project referent to the voting process, Brazil will have a printed vote in 2022 and more transparency in the election results.

The president said that if the people continue to have their right to come and go, they will issue a decree that, according to him, is already ready and will guarantee this right to citizens.

“We do not challenge anyone, we do not want to confront anyone, but do not dare to confront or steal the freedom of our people”.

President Bolsonaro also affirmed:

“We cannot passively watch so many disagreements, so many arbitrariness that you have seen well over the past year”.

Finished the President of the Republic of Brazil.

The Brazilian people reaction to the leftists politicians arbitrary, which are some states governors and mayors, is similar to the huge dissatisfaction demonstrated by the population of developed countries in Europe and North America.

REACTION AGAINST LOCKDOWN IN OTHER COUNTRIES

According to the Global News, scuffles occurred between police in London, England and anti-lockdown protesters on Saturday 20th of March, as thousands of demonstrators marched through the British capitol. It occurred the same day people were marching against COVID-19 measures in Austria and Germany. People in London flouted social distancing rules and wore no masks despite rules laid out making it unlawful for groups to gather for protests.

Thousands more people gathered in Kassel, Germany and Vienna, Austria. Kassel police reported approximately 20,000 were present at the beginning of the demonstration and some had been arrested during the course of the march.

CANADA

At Queen’s Park, on 15th of May, people demonstrated against lockdown restrictions in place in Ontario. At Nathan Phillips Square demanding the ending of Lockdowns binging up the hashtag #NoMoreLockdowns on Twitter, according to Maxime Bernier post.

NETHERLANDS

According to Ruptly News, the police clashed with anti-lockdown and anti-government protesters on Amsterdam’s Museumplein square in January 2021 as around 2,000 people rallied against coronavirus restrictions in the country.

The protest, which had been denied permission by city authorities who had specified that the event could only take place in the nearby Westerpark with a limit of 500 people, was broken up with water cannons and mounted police, after demonstrators refused to leave the area and threw projectiles at the police.

The demonstration, which took place two days after the Dutch government collapsed over a child benefits scandal, came after the Dutch authorities extended lockdown restrictions by a further three weeks on Monday, with the government also announcing that it was considering implementing a curfew.

According to Amsterdam’s police force around 100 people were arrested in the course of the demonstration. Dutch coronavirus restrictions include the closure of schools and childcare centres, as well as cafes and restaurants, with residents urged to stay at home and only leave for essential reasons such as purchasing food, medical visits or exercise, or to work.

In a statement released in the same week, the government justified the measures saying that the “next task is to bring about far larger and quicker reductions in daily infection rates, so that the number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals and intensive care units also comes down.”

GERMANY

According to Arirang News, German police clashed with anti-lockdown protesters when parliament approved a new law which gives Chancellor Angela Merkel more power to impose pandemic-linked restrictions.
