On Tuesday, Big Tech’s YouTube giant suspended Senator Rand Paul’s account for seven days for arguing that “cloth masks” were not effective against the coronavirus in a video posted on its channel.
The Republican senator’s account suspension began on Monday, a week after he posted the video in question. In that post, Paul stated that “cloth masks don’t work” and most store-bought masks “do not prevent infection”.
The CDC said fabric masks offer some protection.
YouTube is also policing criticism of the use of masks among the general public, who have scant, uncertain, and negligible evidence that they work to stem the spread of COVID-19 or other coronavirus pandemics.

“Saying that cloth masks work, when they don’t, actually risks lives, as someone might choose to care for a loved one with COVID using just a cloth mask. This is not only bad advice but also potentially deadly misinformation,” said Paul.
While nations with some of the highest mask compliance rates in the world, such as Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia, are seeing massive increases in COVID cases, northern European countries such as Norway, Sweden, and Denmark also have usage rates. extremely low masks such as low COVID case and mortality rates.
The censorship also happened because Senator Paul in a Newsmax interview raised suspicions about the role of the Wuhan Institute of Virology in the COVID pandemic and questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci’s relationship with the Chinese laboratory.
Paul originally responded to YouTube’s suspension in a video message titled “It’s time for unfiltered news.”
“YouTube censorship is very dangerous as it stimulates debate and promotes groupthink where the truth is defined by people with a political agenda,” said Paul. This video was also removed by YouTube for violating the Community Guidelines, reported the Daily Wire.
They are now banning all of my speech, including speech that is made on the Senate floor, which is protected by the constitution,” Senator Paul told reporters on Tuesday. “YouTube now thinks they are smart and pious enough that they can oversee speech, even constitutionally protected speech.”
Senator Paul recently posted a viral video on Twitter that brilliantly exposed what is at stake in this country.
We are at a moment of truth and a crossroads,” said Paul. “Are we going to allow these people to use fear and propaganda to do even more harm to our society, economy, and children? Or let’s get together and say, absolutely not. Not this time. I choose freedom. ”
“According to YouTube, however, you are not allowed to use even government data to show how public policy is wrong, even if the criticism comes from a US senator whose job it is to formulate policy.”
“Big Tech is becoming more tyrannical and undemocratic every day. Hopefully, the censure of a former president and an incumbent US senator will serve as a much-needed wake-up call.” Finished the senator.
