President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) said on Wednesday (5/5) that he intends to receive Robson Oliveira, a Brazilian who was detained in Russia and returns today to Brazil, at the airport of Galeão (RJ). Robson was a driver for soccer player Fernando, currently in Beijing Guoan, China.
Bolsonaro cited the episode that guaranteed Robson’s pardon and his return to Brazil as a demonstration of Brazil’s good foreign relations.
“We talked with the Russian government, with the ambassador, I had a video conference with President Putin, which I thank for his signed act of grandeur. He granted pardon to this stranger, to this poor, black, driver, the result of communications work and a good relationship, which started with Ernesto Araújo, who is no longer our minister, and which continued with the minister [Carlos Alberto Franco] France ”.
After visiting the Brazilian Embassy in Russia, Robson will disembark at around 7:30 pm (from Brasília) at Tom Jobim International Airport, in Rio de Janeiro.
Bolsonaro said that as he is in Rio de Janeiro today, he will delay his return to give Robson a hug.
